Here we go then. Welcome back to Tennessee Sports Radio, issue number 53. Let's play the theme tune and we'll get stuck in. Oh, I've got to be doing this at Tennessee Sports Radio.
I'm right, guys. I'm sorry for the day. I've got Mr. Will Hickey over from Canada.
How's it going, mate? Hey, yeah, it's going good. Well, mate, we've got loads to talk about. Obviously, I plan was to get a January edition out, but there's been so many videos.
It's hard to kind of break down everything. But let's go straight into, I would say, probably the hottest news at the moment, right? Niger leaving element. I mean, that was a big deal, right?
Yeah, how long was he actually on there for? I can't remember, was it? It's got to be like 14 years or something. It's got to be something crazy like that.
He was on the, or maybe at least 10, you know, it's got to be at least 10 years. Let's see if we can find out real quick, but in a way, you could probably see it coming because if you think about an element piece video, which I thought was an awesome video, you've had Evan Smith in there, you've had Mason Silver and they're all disappearing from the element squad. Who else left? Did Cookie, I think Cookie's gone.
Yep, he's left as well. You thought it would always be in the element family. There was another guy as well. Was it Dominic Walker?
Is that the other guy? Yeah, he was a little. What is up with that? Obviously Cookie's a steady pro that's been around for a long time, but Dominic Walker seemed like he was going to be next person to step up a little bit.
He's probably got another few years to actually get into his full stride. But it's just strange. Really strange. As soon as you saw Evan leave, you see Mason leave, we probably should have thought that Nigel might, you know, he's probably the one that you think would leave more than anyone else.
I know he's been on there for a long time, but we probably should have seen it. Did you see it coming? I definitely didn't. It's one of those ones where I guess you could almost see it go in either way.
He could stay there solid forever almost, or he has got that, you know, a large enough following, I'd say, to go and do his own thing. I didn't see it coming really. Nigel is so element. That logo was his.
You see that element board. That's a Nigel board these days, isn't it? I don't see anyone else. Whereas it seems like now they're pushing that.
Jacko, he seems like he's going to be their poster boy. I'm not too sure if he's big enough yet. I'm going to be completely honest. Not alone anyway.
So weird when you grow up, you're probably the same with you when we were younger maybe 10 years ago. Whenever I thought of Element, there'd be a couple of heads that pop up straight away. But probably this past five or 10 years, you just pretty much think about it. You think of that, you think of Nigel, especially for the younger generation.
They are the foundation of Element at the moment. They're just gone. It's definitely going to switch it's maybe something switched there. I saw him on Nigel's Instagram post when he said he's leaving, thanking everyone, blah, blah.
And Dane Berman, listening to the show apparently, he commented on Nigel's post saying about fucking time or something like that. So is that industry heat? One element. I know that the elements are big of a company these days.
They're part of a big conglomerate. But it was just, yeah, I don't know. It's going to be like people have been waiting for them to jump ship and leave Element Skateboards. Yeah.
It's one of those things where there could be something going on in the background that might not be that well known to the public or otherwise, like I said, he's more than capable of either going somewhere else that's going to give him something more or going and doing his own thing. I know he's kind of like a polarizing character in skating. I know he's a little bit more capable that don't like him, which kind of fucks him off a little bit, because is he my favourite skater of all time? Not at all.
But if you can't place Nigel Houston down is one of the greatest skaters, you know, to ever step on a bit of wood. He's got some wrong with you. His talent is nearly unparalleled to anyone. So just because he wears a little bit of skin type bullshit and looks more like a runner than a skateboarder, I mean, he doesn't really deserve that much heat for it.
I don't think. Yeah, undeniably, like him like a style or not, he is one of the best people to do it. Yeah, he's going to be in a Hall of Fame whenever that is, whenever he's holding grey. He's definitely sure of a Hall of Famer.
You know, you're talking about, you could do his own brand mate and you're talking about other people would take him. What are you saying? Pure speculation who would take him? And also, if he were to go on his own, who's going to have to pull in some boys in there?
He's going to have to pull in his boys to make a new team up. What do you think he would do? What do you think his options are? My first thoughts were April, right?
Then I thought, oh, maybe he's going to do his own thing. Otherwise, I don't know. He's not going to be going to F.A. or anything like that.
I don't think so. Probably not. One of our listeners, Instagram handle, Fraser, James, Jolly, Joseph, Jameson, some iteration in their mate. But he thought Plan B would be a good mix for him.
Kind of fits that elite squad mentality that Plan B tried to project, don't they? Sometimes you can't argue with it too much. They've had some, and still do have heavy hitters on their squad. Also, your boy says they could probably afford him, which is another thing for Nigel.
Obviously, he's going to have a big pay packet. I personally think he's going to do his own thing, and I think he's probably going to grab, you know, the Loy Brothers. He's going to grab just some of his old school mates. I think that's more likely to happen.
Or he's going on zero mate. That's my wild card pick. I was going to say this. Would you be mad or unhappy or whatever, if he went on primitive?
I'm not saying it's going to happen, but I'm saying, what would you feel like if it did happen? I think that's probably the best place you could go, personally, if I'm going to be completely honest. I just think he is, that is the super team. We all know it.
That is a super team. And, uh, Nigel would fit in perfectly. Just putting that primitive machine behind him. I think it could work for him.
Do I think he's going to go and play second fiddle on primitive? Probably not. That's why I personally think it all leads to him doing his own thing. Who's got more money in skateboarding than Nigel?
I can tell you. I can tell you maybe. Maybe. But that's probably it.
So, Nigel just has to pay the right artist, the right designers. He's probably had ideas for fucking years about design. Everyone has their own ideas of creating your own brand and doing something you want to do and figuring out. He's had a long time to figure it out.
So, I'm sure he could come up with something easy. You know, put the right squad together. Because it's always about that as well. The squads got to be right.
Logos are cool. Graphics and art collaborations are nice. But if you don't have a squad that you can buy into, it doesn't work. So, I can see him doing his own thing.
And within reason as well, I guess what kind of happened with April and a few other things. I guess the Buffalo team instantly, he can grab a couple of his close guys or whatever and just kind of roll with it. Slowly set out and see how it goes and whatever. Yeah, I just hope he doesn't come up with it.
You know, just calling it Nigel or something. I really would. I mean, I just hate what it's. I know we've seen it in the past like power per hour or something and things like that.
But yeah, hopefully Nigel comes up with a decent name rather than just because I could easily see him just sick in his name on it, which wouldn't be a good look at anything. Yeah, no, he'd have to play a smart for sure. You reckon you reckon his own thing mate? Or do you reckon he might, that primmy thing might come up?
I'm saying, I'm saying I'd probably be mad if he went on primmy. Not saying he doesn't deserve it. He is up there with all any team he wanted to be on. He could probably pull it off, right?
He'd be an asset. But old school, Nigel, I'm talking about old school, Nigel long hairdress. He could be in any of my dream teams, you know, but new Nigel, not doubt in him, but just not my thing. But he's doing his own thing.
So fair play to him. Yeah, exactly. I'm kind of with you as well. I'm not saying I'm wearing cycle shorts or whatever or cycle trousers skating isn't my cup of tea.
I'm still not going to give him, you know, I'm going to keep for maybe looking like, you know, when he wears a big poncho and stuff like that. Yeah, I'm not saying that. Okay, look, but he can do anything on a skateboard. So I'm never going to be kicking him when he's down.
He's never going to be down. He's Nigel fucking Houston. So he is special talent. Like we said, one of the greatest skaters to ever fucking do it.
But I'm looking forward to seeing what he does because I think it's an interesting kind of concept that we've got in our hands that you've got this super free agent. When Chris Cole kind of jumped, you know, jumped about off, he didn't jump straight to plan, but he had his kind of time off and everything and did his own thing, made a couple of own boards. Then went to plan B. It was a proper free agent that anyone would want on their team.
And Nigel's the other one that's like, but he's so big. Where the fuck does he go? You know, that's the only thing. I think it all leads down to him creating his own brand and just grabbing his friends and paying him a decent weight.
I think that's probably what's going to happen. Yeah, no, definitely be interesting to see what happens for sure. And I don't know. I wonder how long we'll have to wait in suspense or ever see.
Yeah, we've probably got like two years of waiting. No, he's not going to do it overnight. But it's a strange one. But all the best to him.
I mean, I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to do. And the good thing about his mate, obviously, if he does go to a different company or start his own thing, we're going to be seeing a heavy Nigel part down the road. He's not going to be announcing himself without a part. He's going to be saying, you know, Nigel's skateboards.
He's a five minute part of me killing the fucking streets and jumping down the biggest shit you've seen. Yep. No, we're good to see another part. Right.
Let's move on, mate. Let's move on. I think let's do you want to talk about Clay Kline as part? So this is Clay Kline as a delusional part of the madness skateboards.
Do you want to have a little chat about that? Yeah, let's do it. There's a couple of highlights in there that we could probably point out. You can say your best line.
You can say your best line. Okay. It's probably going to be the same as yours. The tray over the table top sort of transfer, isn't it?
It's just such a massive ramp to ramp transfer tray and no grab. The commitment. And if you see the second angle, the first angle, the second angle, I think the first angle is behind him. You see that whipped back leg mate.
You see how much extension he gets on that? That is pure. He has to send that through because it's probably a pretty big board. So it's going to take a lot of work to get that proper tray connection, that thing of the wood hitting that ramp.
But yeah, he absolutely fires his back leg across himself, almost horizontally behind him. Yeah, just absolutely forces it, gives it everything. He's got pulled it off. So yeah, I loved it.
I love the other angle as well. I've been coming in and just really making that tray get that distance. I can stick. For me, it's one of those things.
Obviously I'll never touch a ramp that big. That's a bit too scary for me. But imagine kind of just obviously leaving your board and then you'll have the bollocks to stick your feet down. I mean, how many can you bail that many times?
You know, it was it that he kind of just one day you got a special power up and just went for it. Who knows right now? This guy's in a good way, seeming like a complete hot rod, like giving it everything he's got, like awesome to watch. And fuck yeah, the speed he's going to get, if you think about really tray flipping, most of the time if I'm thinking about tray flipping anything more than flat, it spins way too fast to like imagine trying to get the power to get a tray across that.
Obviously the speed's going to help, but to keep it slow that whole time or to keep it not over rotating or under rotating for that whole thing. Yeah, fair factor, man. That's what we like. Proper MBD.
No one's no one's seen anyone do that even Danny Way Bob Bernquist hitting the Mega Rumps when they did. No one's hit tray. No grab. Just hitting a tray and landing it, rolling away.
Was that like a three trick line or a four trick line that he does it in? Yeah, something like that. Yeah, again, that is crazy how consistent he must be. If he wanted it in line, he didn't just want it as a single clip.
He's like, no, I got this in line. I probably think he should have just gone for it as a single. We didn't need to worry about doing the other tricks before and because we're not talking about him. So probably should have just done the tray.
You got another highlight in there, Will. Something that really impressed you in that part. Well, quickly breathed past a quick, whatever it was, like a side flip or a back flip back into the transition, like across the gap sort of thing. Insane.
Yeah, I was going to say, I like that. Did he get it? Was it a kick flip twist? Kick flip five 40 or some description just before his ender?
I think it's like the third from last trick. Again, kick flipping out of a ramp that size on its own is ridiculous. And he kind of just, he gets that kick flip and then he just twists up and he just gets that five 40 round. Yeah.
So how are you doing that? It's like his hand just comes out of the ball that he turns into just to grab the ball just so he's still with it. And that's like, I don't know what park it is. It looks like something like Burnside or FDR, Philadelphia.
It was that sort of proper, grimey transition skate park. So it wouldn't have been kind to him to land that. Yeah, huge gnarly, wippy transition. Also, a couple of street clips in there.
Just to show everyone that I can do this as well. It's like a back free off like a roof gap. Yeah, the back three is really nice as well. Like, obviously, you know, probably a seven foot drop, something like that.
You're not seeing many people do that, but that was perfect. So yeah, like you're saying, well, he's saying, well, he kind of shows that room glip-bip side of him that you can do the switch tray. You can do trays on, on vert. I'd say the only other person that we really saw, obviously Bob Burnside is, you know, his nose grind kind of non-glip-sout on vert and stuff like that.
You know, exceptional talent. But glip-bip was the only guy who looked like he was a street skater on vert to me, apart from Clay Griner. But Clay Griner obviously just goes twice as high as everyone else. And twice as long as everyone else doing that 900 gainer.
Oh, yeah. This guy is really serious when he's seeing him skate on vert. If you haven't seen his part, it's insane to watch. He definitely moves in his own way.
Yeah, he's got his own style. And I even kind of like, again, I go back to it. He's got that street vibe to him as well. I think he gets a frontside nose slide in the pool.
Sketchy ass fucking pool, dirty pool with steep walls. Gets nice little kind of front nose slide, steep William style over kind of like a love seat in there. Yeah, yeah. Loads a little things like that.
It kind of just gives him enough flavour. And he isn't just saying, you know, I'm the shawmite of skateboarding. He kind of is a shawmite skateboarding because he is just insane and he's only going to get better. I think he's, I don't even think he's that old.
I think he's still kind of maybe maybe mid 20s at best, you know, probably more likely early 20s. So I think we've got a lot more to come from, from Clay. We just want to see him kind of take on the mega ramp and just, you know, shut it down basically. Because I think he can do it.
Yeah, it's going to be nuts to see what he comes up with next. Early part to the year as well. So hopefully he has a couple more for us this year for sure. Yeah, I was thinking that it was kind of like, who was the last transition skater to get scared?
Yeah, I don't know. Yeah, no idea. If Clay could just put out, obviously, yeah, like saying, good start of the year, put it in, then you've got, you know, hopefully springtime. Just put something out, you know, maybe just a little kind of double with another madness skater.
Just put something out, nothing crazy. And then just obviously wait till, so all when it comes in. Just one more big part, just an out to yourself in the skater year season. If he puts out four parts, man, he could definitely get it.
Because it's just undisputed how good he is. Yeah, and I think kind of when you're watching parts like this one is exciting to watch it really realistically. Most of the time I'm not going to go out and watch loads of Earth skating. But I appreciate it.
When you see a part like this, it doesn't necessarily what you seem like you're just watching a part, if you know what I mean? It's gripping, he's doing the trick selections great. So I reckon he could do it. I really do it.
If he keeps putting out what his same standard that he's done, he could definitely put himself in the run. Yeah, and I think this year's as good as any mate. I mean, if you start off the year with a very, very strong part, set your foundations, you know, his foundations are there. All he needs to do is just get the right companies to kind of back him throughout the year.
You know, his truck company is a wheel company. Just put the spotlight on him. Yeah, he could definitely definitely get it. I don't think you will.
I don't think it's going to happen unless he kind of gets out in the streets and does something because that's thrasher isn't it? They want to see someone do some San Francisco shit to win it because I was even thinking the other day that Milton Martinez, you see the most recent cover of Thrasher. Off the top of the building into the bank. Yeah.
And it's kind of like if this old boy's doing that shit again this year, he could easily get it again. Easy. If he's doing that because Thrasher loved that. So if he's just going to jump off some buildings, you know, four times a year, he could definitely be a two time champ.
I reckon Clay could be jumping off some buildings into banks too. Maybe even a five-point. You never know. Like the pasties that both of these guys are operating obviously Milton Martinez is more of a street operator, but obviously Clay Showness.
He can do that too. You know, he's doing ramps that sort of size. So it's kind of, you know what I mean? He might be like, fuck it, I can do that shit too.
I'm sure he can. Anyway, let's do a little further rating for this. I think how impressive it is. It probably is a four of what he's putting there.
Just sticking the biggest nine hundred of all time in, putting the longest trail of all time in and some of those other clips are insane as well. You know, like the Kickflip Five-Oi. But for me it's a three because it's just, you know, it's not necessarily my cup of tea. I like a video that we will be talking about later on in the episode, mate.
We're the same, you know, if someone's doing a Kickflip front tail, 270 or something like that, you know, that's going to be our cup of tea. Well, probably if I was a transition skater, I would probably be rating it a four, but I'm not. So it's going to be a three for me too. Right, let's move on then, mate.
So you checked out the freedoms or three domes, three dream episode one. What were your thoughts on that compared to Clay's video? Because obviously Pedro Barros is about us motherfucker who, you know, throws and big shit down. How are we saying it compares to Clay Cryner's part?
So I was thinking about this pretty much as I was watching it, taking some notes and totally different style of skateboarding here. Obviously you put him next to Rowley and some of this was great and very similar in kind of ways. Some of these guys are skating, you know, how many of you would and a lot of people would when they go to a random street spot. They might be a curb, might be a bank, whatever it is.
You're going to go do your basic tricks on it. These guys are doing those basic tricks on stuff that is insane. It might be at a skate park, but it might be the biggest thing there, it might be a bank or whatever. And they're just doing a Five-O-Riva or a tail slide shove or, you know, a bone or something like that.
But you're times in that by ten and it's awesome to watch stuff like that because it's kind of like big kids skating if you like me. And it's the tricks you do in every day, but just on that next level, like Rowley, he might just be doing like a front lip on any trick he's doing, which is quite an achievable trick. But he's doing it down a fucking something gnarly. So totally different than Clay.
It's one of those ones where you're almost like, you know, you have a dream where you're like, I could do that if I had the fucking balls to do it. And, you know, it's on that next level of, you can really relate to skating like that, but it is on that almost unachievable level for the average person. So, yeah, and the vibe felt less produced. It's something that's observing what's happening rather than going out filming it, which I like to kind of go to a voyeuristic sort of things.
It's kind of seeing the boys operate rather than being down there with the fish out the whole time. Yeah, no, for sure. I really enjoyed how that was done. Gives you an actual idea into it.
It's an episode one. So obviously we're going to get some more videos from these boys, which I like the way to do it, you know. But in a series, kind of just rather than kind of make this super polished video, they're just going to get their skates shower. Yeah, exactly.
No, definitely a nice lay out of the film. Gives you a good insight into that person as well. If you want to get to know that person or skate or a bit better, really interesting. I'd like to borrow one of those things if you're into rally, which you should be, or Pedro Barros.
This is something you should watch and you're going to enjoy. So, now that I've been disappointed. Let's move on to Enzo, the tailors, the whole thing part. Yeah.
I haven't watched it, maybe you have. So what you're saying about that then? I'm saying you should fucking watch it. It was a good part.
Now, it was a long one. I've never really watched it. I don't know if they do crux to do these things a lot like the whole part. It was basically like a raw files part.
So I don't know if this part come out shortened and neatened up without they or some stuff. He's trying this big tray, doesn't land it, but later on, four minutes in, shows you the lander. It's down like a 17-cell or something. It's nuts.
Yeah, there's a lot of great tricks in this part. He likes big shit in the Enzo. Yes. Yeah.
That opening tray, like I said, down 17 or something. That is no fucking round and few big tricks laid down, a couple of big gnolli heels. There's a couple of nice front side flips in there, mate. So maybe I need to watch it again.
I'm really impressive kick flip over like the side of the stairs, sort of thing. Like really nice. And like a two-trick line, you'd like it and it's a gnolli heel flip, nice slide on like a little bench. And then eventually hard flip like kind of sideways over a handrail down the stairs.
Nice. And it's kind of like a, like a Mike Moser of two-trick style. Like not many people are putting like a tech trick before they're doing a big, a big huck or a throw down. So it's kind of like, you know, this person's showing fucking, it's a nice consistency there.
It's not just a fucking, it's not just a nice half flip. He's got a gnolli heel nose slide in there as well. Yeah, I've just got the tray in front of me here, mate, down the huge stair set. That is massive.
That is absolutely huge. The lander for that is a 410. Yeah, he's just getting it. It doesn't really seem to be too effective.
That is a massive drop. That is nothing to be fucked with. You can't just, you know, me and you turn up at that spot, mate. That's, you're going home in a, in a body bag.
That is just so big. Then he's just delicately whipping that tray round and getting a heavy hit. Yeah, me and you tried to jump down that. We would have to call the end.
I think we'd be stopping each other, you know. It's like, I think we could jump down some fairly, you know, not too scared of stairs or anything like that. You know what I mean? But it's that's for walking down.
That's not for jumping down. You know, there's only a few people like, ah, 17 set, you know, Chris Dalslin, Ryan DeSento. Yeah, but we just jostled in the sense that you're that your boy is obviously Jordan's going to throw it down as well. But not the same way as it was stylishly as DeSento or Jostlin.
It's like an 18 minute long part, this thing. That's crazy. It's kind of like a Raw, you know, there might be a part out where it is cut down. Who knows?
Mate, I'm virgin. I'm giving it a 4. Nice. Nice.
Well, just for that tray, you know, that's kind of 4 worthy because if Jostlin's doing that, we'd have him a 4. Yeah, loads of solo tricks in there. Might not be everyone's 4, but I was setting and watching that the whole way through. There's a clip on Instagram or on Hall of Meat or something like that where I'm sure it's Enzo's film.
It gets run over by like a golf buggy in a school. Am I right? Is Enzo's film? I don't know if it's Enzo's film or not.
I definitely see my video. I don't know why I've got it in my notes. I've got it kind of Enzo, Katoo, is the whole thing and being run over by a golf buggy in the notes when I first saw it. So I don't know if it is, I think it is his film.
But what the fuck's going on there? Like, obviously the guy who's driving it, to me, it looks like he's trying to block them from skating the stairs, right? Is that, you're on the same level as me, but he's obviously seen it before where they might park a little buggy in front of a stair set or the bottom of a stair set just to stop skating. It seems like he was trying to beat the skaters from getting there.
Obviously he didn't know a film that was behind the skater and it just absolutely cleans them out. Oh yeah, no breaking until after the impact there was a full hit. Yeah, that was a full hit, definitely. That guy is, I'm hoping he's alright because that was a mean hit.
In a way, I'm hoping that they told that motherfucker, come on now, you might be trying to protect that stair set from someone jumping down on some fucking wheels. You know, is that important that you could just run someone like, you know, I know they're doing a job and they're trying to protect things, but you've got to think about it. You're in a vehicle now. Then when you're in a vehicle mate, you've got to be responsible with that vehicle when he's just plowed into someone fucking filming someone else rolling on a bit of wood.
Was it that important to him? That's it, maybe he's been banned from the golf buggy. Yeah, he's not allowed to hug you now, more mate. Yeah, well, let's move on.
Have you seen, do you see Everson have done a little collab with Indy mate? Have you seen this? I have not. Yeah, got a little collab, obviously Everson are one of our favourite brands from Japan and they're kind of, surely they're blowing the fuck up.
You get a collab with Indy, you must be doing something right. Jopts and furniture, they are just products. So the product mate, the tool is like a, they've made some sort of nunchuck sort of style skate tool. Nice.
Yeah, have you got into Everson's or probably Indy's Instagram feed? You see it, but yeah, it's kind of like some ninja tool, red Indy colour, obviously keeping the Japanese vibe with it. Yeah. But they've also released like the trucks, I think they've released like some nice little bags, like a nice kind of sports jacket.
I'm not talking like a Varsity jock jacket, I'm talking about more of a raincoat with a few different blocks of colour on it. Yeah, that's good. That's sick. Yeah, I'm checking it out right now.
Yeah, I like it. The tool's a bit gimmicky, but it's pretty cool. Yeah, it looks a bit deadly actually. You might go into trouble, you might be careful.
I guess as long as you've got your skateboard whether you could probably, you'd be alright. Yeah, and just demonstrate that you can actually, you know, just change your bearings in front of the police when they stop you. Yeah, that's it. Any other parts you've seen recently, mate, you want to have a little chat about?
I'll do a quick little note on the hose AP as a candidate. A couple of nice tricks in there. I did like a fakey fibo, kind of full cab out, sort of thing. It was really cool.
A couple of nice fronts, item backs, so pre-60s in there. I'd say it was a good watch. So definitely go and watch it. Quick great in, it was a free, he was an enjoyable watch.
Yes. Quite a short part, 249. Just come up on Thrasher very, very recently. We're just going to break this down.
Haven't heard of this guy before. Obviously, visual, you've got Matt Miller, they've got a couple of, they've got quite a good team. And JP Soza, apologies. I haven't been watching too much of your shit, mate.
I'm telling you I've seen your shit, and it is good shit. He gets a thumbs up from Team Turbo here. Well done, but yeah, we'll probably break this video part down if you're ready for that, Will. Yeah, I'm ready.
And definitely as Ryan said, come and give this a watch. We like this. Definitely a nice video to watch, not too long as well, so leave you one and more. Yeah, exactly, 249 is nice, mate, really.
Tune drops in, real nice tune. Just setting the scene, telling you as a visual part. Obviously telling you it is JP Soza giving you a little look at him. And then he straight away, there's a ledge backside on him, isn't there?
Yeah. I see the ledge, I'm like, right? Okay. So whilst he hit in, front shove, crook, and then slow-mo whips it round with a Nollie.
Nice, fantastic clip. Yeah, which was perfect. Lovely ledge to do it on. Exactly what we wanted to see.
We're an opener. And then second clip, this is what makes me happy. When I see ledge skating, it's kind of like obviously the camera's right up there underneath it. We can see his new balance logo underneath his board perfectly.
It hits the Nollie front crook and just pops it back around so he's in fakey. And then switch heel, no slide, back to goof, such a nice line, double-edged line. It's real nice, you get an idea and a flavour of JP Soza in three tricks, mate. Yeah, definitely showing us what's coming right now with his few tricks.
Next we've got the old, very heel down a nice little block, brick block, really nice. So obviously just showing you that he can throw down as well. Straight in there as well. With his next line coming up.
He set himself up, clean ass, no slide, get him in a position he wants to be, mate. He's turned his board round, which I like. Didn't have to worry about too much. He's got a mean ass, no slides.
You can just stick one in there and just turn the board around. Now he's where he wants to be. Hopps into position. And this, this is crazy.
So switch 5.0, fucking whips all the way round 360. That's like the 45 second mark. That whip round mate on switch is crazy good. Not really a trick you see many people do and that was awesome.
Well executed, turns on turbo and fucking whips around. He's already declared himself as a tech motherfucker. So you knew he was going to flip his board or something or do something exceptional. I think the last thing you were expecting was a 360 out of that.
Yeah, exactly. Yeah, truly executed. It was not quite what he was expecting. Great trick.
Yeah, this next line, mate, is just right up our street. It's just a perfect kick-flip. Yep. Just telling everyone that, yeah, my kick-flip is real fucking nice and then backs up with an Ollie heel down quite a long stair-set.
Yeah, a solid size bang-in to a trick line. Then Puff's himself over a bumped-a-bar, just a real nice frontside heel. And then he hits up Guy Mariano's spot with an Ollie and Wood Crook, real smooth. Just a nice amount of finesse, good pop-out straight into the bank.
Have you ever had a session on one of those spots, mate? Like, for me, I've skated LA a couple of times. I've never got to skate, you know, some of these schoolyard banks with their little ledges. I've not been lucky enough to skate something quite like that.
Yeah. It'd just be so nice. You know, just even looking at that and it's like anything, just a nice little long crook on the whole thing. I suppose anything would be nice.
Literally anything. To ride that bank hit and then come off, I think would feel real good. Yeah, definitely a good feeling any trick you get on there. Next trick, switch-stance kick-flip, backside tail-slide.
Pulls up to a front crook. Yeah, the precision of that switch-flip into that tail-slide is just beautiful. Yeah. And then again, he's showing so I can kick-flip.
So a backside-tail-slide. Now I can switch heel-flip into a frontside-tail-slide. Whip it round, hit my nose, slide that for a second and come down. Love that sort of trick.
Never been able to do it. Never had the bollocks to kind of pull it round to a tail-slide. I just think you could be in all sorts of trouble trying that sort of stuff, but I always like to look a bit. Yeah, no, it looks great.
Kind of a completion of the trick. A full 360 all the way around. Yeah, exactly. Really enjoyable quick for some of these clips as well.
Super quick, but just the right amount of everything needed to make it work. So really, really good. There's a line here who hits next. Finishes up with like a switch-frontside flip into kind of regular 5.0.
It's kind of like starting a switch, finishing a switch, which is like you're saying, completing a trick in a different way. He's just putting himself back where he was. But to hit a switch-frontside flip into that mate, into a sand of 5.0 I suppose. It was a macula, just how precise he was to kind of aim that and pull it back around.
Oh yeah, the special meter is fully on throughout that frame. Yeah, I think he's got permanent special meter mate because he's done that and in the next he gets a big spin, no slide, big heel-out. And then he's just proceeding to do, you know, Nolly Flip front crooks. Is that Nolly Heel crook?
Oh, I don't know if that's Nolly Flip in. Like that's Nolly Flip in. Nolly him without. Yeah, Nolly Flip in.
Nolly him would heel out. Yeah. So not only is he doing Flip in Flip in Outshit, but he's doing a kickflip and a heel flip with a variation in there. That is ridiculous.
Yeah. Really like the next trick. Well, this spot is absolutely perfect. Like, you know you'll have a good session on like this little kind of swear block of a rail.
Meet your heel to crook, which is really, really nice. We spoke about it before and we made the heel to crook. Yeah, we have. He's got absolutely fire that heel out and he does, you know, very precise.
Obviously he knows what he's doing, but he's got to turn that heel flip into a kickflip just to make sure it gets around for him. Yeah, that's it. Definitely got a really, really fucking giver to get it up there. And does it nicely?
No problem. And then we have the Nolly Flip front, no slide down a square rail, which was beautifully filmed. Like on the other side of the rail, but just, you know, you can see the bottom of the board. So that's fine by me.
Yeah. If you can just get that bottom of the board, you pause on like the 147 mark. That's a perfect pitch. That's what I meant.
Yeah, it is just absolutely perfect. You know, seeing the bottom of the board, seeing a rail, seeing how kind of thin that rail is. Yeah. You can see a lot of his nose on the middle.
That's a thin rail. Yeah, nose locked in there, looking straight at his feet. It's a nice good clip. Yeah.
And then the next one, you think that's a heavy clip. Next one, SSBSTS. And then whips round. Yeah.
Switch front side heel out. Yeah. I don't know how he's doing that, but he is doing that. Yeah.
Perfect. Obviously his switch back tail is absolutely on point. But the whip you need to get in the con like, it almost doesn't even, you know, it almost has an illusion for the heel foot in there, you know, to kind of to get it around. Yeah, the force he generates out of that switch back tail just to get that round is insane.
And then the next trick, mate, talking about a nice blow bit of precision. He's a nolly master. Right. We're just going to declare that right now.
Yeah. Nolly heel front crook on that size handrail. We thought the other handrail that he just just hit was big. That is a big handrail.
That is a, that is a heavy handrail. Very small square rail. Doesn't seem to be phased by it. You see the drop, you know, the drop difference from the, from the bottom of the rail to the ground.
Pretty decent, pretty hefty for doing that sort of trick on it. Yeah, that's it. Giving him just enough time to fucking stand, float right out of that. Yeah, that second angle is absolutely awesome.
And it's presenting on the camera. That was the last trick was it. That was it. Yeah.
I mean, to be fair, it's got to be tough for someone like him. Obviously that was a heavy clip and probably deservedly being the end of it. But most of those tech led tricks he probably could have factored in being his last trick. What you saying, mate?
What you giving that is an overall weight in? It's probably virgin on the, oh, I don't know. It's kind of like a high three, isn't it? Very high three, I think.
That's what I'm going to. Yeah. Is it a high three to make it, would it make it a solid four? Or would it stay a remainder three?
That's what I'm kind of stuck. Yeah, it's hard because I think anything that you think is going to be more close to three, three eight, you probably should just give it a four. Yeah, it's kind of on the three, seven, five. The only thing for me it was missing, he's got in his locker to kind of give us a few longer lines.
Give us a bit more, show us the push, put a few more things down. I know his tricks are kind of very, very tech, so to put them in longer lines is difficult. But obviously, when we saw him do the kick flip down the stair and then back up with an Oli Hill down, the second stair that goes down. Obviously, he can put a nice simple line together.
And I think he probably could have just gave us a few more little, I mean, did we see a try on flat? I don't think we did. Yeah. That sort of thing.
You know what I'm saying? Yeah, that's it. Hopefully, you know, it's pretty new on the old visual scene and maybe he's going to have a few other parts come out. Hopefully, the end of the four, five minute variety where we can see all the other tricks.
Well, he's on my radar now, mate. I've done about you, but he's on mine. Yeah, I'm definitely going to be keeping an eye out for what's coming next. Alright, well, thank you very much, everyone, for tuning into the Sports Radio.
Hope you enjoyed it. Right, and let us know if there's any videos in particular that you want us to talk about. There's so many of them, it's difficult for us. But yeah, if you've got some favourites or some favourites you want us to talk about, or if there's an All-Stars Edition that you want us to delve into.
Let's say every other month there's probably going to be an All-Stars Edition. We've got a few line down so we'll get some of those out. We will enjoy recording as well. So yeah, thanks for tuning in and we'll see you next time.
