She became a teen mom at 16 to twins who spent 3 months in the NICU and, subsequently, have disabilities. She spent her entire life trying to please people; she really just wanted people to like her. When she turned 40, she realized how unhappy she was with the life that she created. She realized that she was giving everything away, and the people that she had closest to her relied upon that. Her second divorce happened shortly after that. She still battles with people pleasing, but she had to go through such a painful transition that she no longer feels like she puts other first. Steph's website Steph's podcast Steph's Notes from the Sidelines: "He did me a favor." Sometimes we don't see the blessings that come with unfortunate circumstances. Fact is stranger than fiction. When you learn how to pick yourself up from nothing, it burns away all the negative self-talk because you prove yourself against your own thoughts. You CAN afford to leave; you'll figure it out. Life is too short to be on the floor crying in the bathroom. There are no mistakes; life is what it is. The more you can talk about the things you've been through, the more you realize that there are no mistakes; life can just be really hard sometimes, and life can be really great, but it doesn't make you a bad or good person. Trust your gut; it's always right. And don't give your power away. Find people who support you, and don't settle until you find someone, or multiple people, who worship the ground you walk on. **The information provided on this podcast does not, and is not intended to constitute legal or medical advice; all information, content, and material on this site are for general informational purposes only.
