We study the history of ancient Israel not because the promises made to the Hebrew children belong to the Gentile church but because human nature has not changed in some 3400 years. Many professing Christians will disagree with the statement regarding God's promises, and that is fine. People are entitled to serve God as they see fit. However, God's word is precise, and He expects the elect to serve Him according to His will, not at our convenience or capriciousness.
