Michael Keaton's stint as Batman, as good as we remembered? Tim Burton's Batman was a cultural juggernaut in 1989, riding a wave of hype and an iconic performance from Jack Nicholson to box office success. The unlikely casting of Michael Keaton as Bruce Wayne/Batman worked and this 'darker' version of Batman can be seen as the forebearer of so many of the comic book adaptations that now rule the box office.
