7-14-21: Mentorship is on my mind.

I would love to hear from you, just send me text and let me know what you think of the podcast.We all have stories of the  little things people do in our lives that can make a big impact. One person who made an impact on me was the Hall of Fame pitcher Don Sutton. In the first year of my career I broke-up Sutton’s bid for his 56th career shutout which would have been a National League record with a two out home run in the ninth inning. After the game Sutton hunted me down and tapped me on the shoulder. Did he scream at me? Did he punch me in the face? Or did he do something kind and unexpected? Don showed me mentorship by his actions.  It wasn't in words but something he did that really took some thought.  That translated into me paying it forward.  Hear what Don did for me that led me to do for others and the unexpected tragedy with Tim Crews, my former teammate on the Dodgers and later a Cleveland Indian, that demonstrated just how special the little things you do can be some of the best mentorship to those you support.
