“Buy land, grow food, and give it away.” Such began Lori Birckhead’s journey with By Faith Farm. Following a recurring vision, she and her husband did indeed buy land where they now grow food to give away to those in need despite having had no farming experience and loads of initial skepticism. Many miracles later, By Faith Farm is now run completely by “farm angel” volunteers, chief among them being Christy Palmer. These volunteers helped grow 182,000 pounds of organic food last year. In addition to growing food, Lori and Christy manage a you-pick flower field, short-term rental farm experience, organic beef, and soon a campground.
