8: #8 | Slumlords and Sex Toys

from The Suss · host HeadStuff Podcasts

Following on from last time out where we gave a ‘thumbs up’ to the group of activists involved in stopping an eviction on Mountjoy Square, Glenn and Steph are joined in studio by Michelle of the Irish Housing Network. We’d put a content warning on this for landlords if we thought some of them might tune in. We try to get to the nub of how some of them think and act like they are above the law. A first-hand account of the attempted eviction precedes a broader discussion about barriers to eradicating Irish society of homelessness. It’s Valentine’s week and love is in the air (although if you’ve been forced by a landlord to move home with your parents then maybe not so much). To celebrate we’re also joined in studio by Shawna Scott (@SexSiopa). Listening is strongly recommended if you found your sex education at school to be in any way inadequate. Consent, toxic masculinity, sex positive feminism and everything in between (the sheets) is up for discussion. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
