Death is a reality we all must face. It comes both to the old and the young. It can come swiftly and unexpectedly, or slowly and torturously. Any notion that life continues after death is scripturally errant. The origins of such belief have their roots in paganism. We do a great disservice to families in mourning if we try to comfort them with fantasies about "so-and-so" being in a better place, happy amongst the angels.  Brother Singh points out that the phrase rest "Rest In Peace" is an appropriate quotation for indeed the dead do rest in peace until the resurrection.
