#87 FIND A REASON TO DO GOOD

The pestilence we label as COVID-19 gives us reason to consider what is essential in life and vain. Brother Singh reminds us that no matter how prosperous we are, no matter how popular or accomplished, we all must face death. "They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give God a ransom for him." (Psalm 49:6-7) Careful preparation for difficult days ahead is wise, but preparation for our soul's destiny ought to be our primary concern. The "mechanics of religion" are a trap the Body of Christ finds itself caught in. We do all the things required of us yet t without love! Our religious fervor is not producing what it should produce. Like the Body of Christ at Ephesus, the Lord may well accuse us: "I have somewhat against thee because thou hast left thy first love." (Revelation 2:4).
