90 - Racism & White Privilege

Hi listeners - we're doing something different this week and using the time we have with you to have a conversation about systemic racism, white privilege, and learning how to be a better ally and anti-racist. This is in response to the increased focus on the Black Lives Matter movement, and the murders of George Floyd and Breonna Taylor in the US. Our aim is to be as open and honest as possible with you, in the hopes that what we say might resonate or inspire you to learn more, especially if you're a white listener. We're both white, middle-class, British men; we have never experienced racism and we'll never know what it feels like. We want to learn as much as we can and be the most effective allies and anti-racists that we can be. Part of that involves speaking up and using our platform as podcast hosts with an audience to discuss systemic racism and privilege. We're going to make mistakes doing this, and we welcome being called out on them so that we can learn. We hope you find the discussion useful and interesting. Mikey & Ben x
