His achievements earned him the title of 2023 California State Coach of the Year for the North, along with his third straight Golden Valley Conference Coach of the Year award. Ryan's story goes beyond college basketball. As the winningest coach in Arcata High School history, he led the Tigers to numerous titles and state playoff appearances. His international coaching experience in Denmark and his background in music, with a degree in Contemporary Music from California State Monterey Bay, add depth to his coaching style. A published recording artist and singer-songwriter, Ryan has toured with multiple Grammy-winning artists and sold music in over 40 countries. He is also an aspiring author currently writing a book titled “Musicality of the Game.” In this episode, we explore how Ryan's diverse experiences and genuine passion have shaped his remarkable coaching journey.
