Many people have never had counselling or coaching of any kind, so in this episode, to provide a comprehensive insight into what this involves, John allows us to sit in on a session with a client. By listening in, you will be able to gain an understanding of the interaction in a coaching session and how much progress and clarity can be achieved.    JOHN KENNY COACHING Want to be able to create healthy relationships in your life?  Why not book in for a complimentary call and we can discuss how you can get started with some new types of relationships? - https://calendly.com/johnkennycoaching/30min   KEY TAKEAWAYS John starts by asking the client why he is there and what he hopes to get out of the session. In this case it is low self-esteem, leading to trouble finding relationships due to, what he refers to as, ‘low emotional intelligence’. Self revelation is very prevalent in this session. “Wow, that is interesting looking at it like that.” In this discussion you will be able to see how coaching allows you to take a detailed look at how you behave and feel about yourself. John leads his client through memories of his past, allowing him to make his own links to patterns of behaviour he uses in his current life and relationships.  At the close of the session John summarises what has been discussed and achieved, and sets out  a plan for progress in the future.    BEST MOMENTS ‘It’s a fear of upsetting other people. Yes, thank you for teasing that out of me, it wasn’t on the tip of my tongue. Yeah, but I'm so desperately bending over backwards to make sure that I don’t upset anybody.’ ‘Would you say that’s what your general self-talk is? I mean it comes back to you not feeling worthy?’ ‘It’s natural for them to want me to be what they thought of as happy.’ ‘I felt like I wanted to be honest with one of my parents about that aspect of me while one of them was still around.’ ‘There’s that sort of silent expectation that you’ve always experienced with your parents, even though they weren’t overly controlling and demanding of you. There did seem to be something that you developed, a sense within yourself that there was an expectation from them, that maybe led to a difficulty with acceptance from yourself.’   VALUABLE RESOURCES If you want to order a copy of my book The P.E.O.P.L.E. Brother Blaq1-" The Relationship Guy" Rob Gregg My podcast is about relationships and family. My goal is to help people make the right choice in mate selection. The only way we can grow as people is to look at our own lives and confront the truth. The saying is true, " the truth can set you free!! When we are totally free from the past, then and only then can we attract the right "purpose mate". Together with Nikhil Chinapa Nikhil Chinapa Together is a way of celebrating the relationship between you guys, the community that makes this show so special, and us, the team that puts the show together. Together, we/'re going to do amazing things. The FootPol Podcast Francesco Belcastro and Guy Burton The podcast that brings together football and politics. We'll be exploring the relationship between the two, both inside and outside the game. The podcast covers "Big Politics" like politicians, clubs, international and national federations and other organised groups and how they use or abuse the game to "Small, Everyday Politics" in the form of community-level clubs, fan associations and the way that football reflects the political challenges of our day to day lives. The FootPol Podcast is brought to you by co-hosts Drs Francesco Belcastro and Guy Burton. The Billy Madison Show Cristine Billy holds a Master’s Degree in Business from American International University and attended Mankato State in Minnesota, but don’t hold that against him. He is a collector of Star Wars memorabilia, autographs (seriously), and a self-admitted ”dork” (but in a cool way of course). Derek is Billy’s ”right hand man” and offers his opinion on many topics but he will honestly admit he’s ”not a political expert or expert on a lot of things” and ”never went to college” but neither did Bill Gates (ok Gates went, but dropped out) but so what? ”Nard” (also known as Nathan) is a former listener of the show that was given a job after Billy helped him find a girlfriend. The relationship with the girl didn’t last but Billy and the guys liked Nard’s ”wit” and offered him a chance to be on the show one day and he never left. Nard has won over 50 Gold Medals in The Special Olympics and supports causes that help place special needs individuals in appropriate jobs and careers, just as he has done.
