A Dreamer's Worst Nightmare

The third episode of Deliver U.S. from Dehumanization tells the story of a dreamer, a Dream Act (DACA) recipient who was brought to the United States at just 13 years old, went to school, worked, and built a family here, only to be taken away and locked inside one of the country’s most notorious detention centers known as “Alligator Alcatraz.” This story reflects the brutal reality of our political climate today, where even those once protected are now being detained by the very laws that promised them safety.This episode questions the limits of the law and the fragility of DACA. How safe are our Dreamers? Does this mean every single DACA recipient is vulnerable to deportation? How strong is the protection DACA was meant to provide?
