A Little Later Than Usual... Thoughts on Holiness

from Destiny Youth · host Michael Saunders

In this episode, I’m opening up about something that’s been pressing heavily on my heart lately: holiness. This all started when I learned some things about a prominent preacher I grew up listening to—someone I genuinely believed carried the presence of God. But over time, I noticed something shift. His sermons started to feel off… like he was preaching his sin into the message—trying to justify it rather than be free from it. And when my own pastor later confirmed what I was sensing, it hit me hard: this wasn't someone to follow anymore. It’s painful to see people you once looked up to fall, but it reminded me just how important holiness is. Scripture says, “Without holiness, no man shall see the Lord.” And today, I want to talk about that—how sin can become so familiar and appealing that we start excusing it, explaining it away, even when deep down we know better. So many people feel stuck in sin, like there’s no way out—but I’m here to tell you: there is a way out. God doesn’t just want your actions to change—He wants your heart to change. He wants to deal with the why behind the what.Temptation doesn’t come out of nowhere—it’s born out of our own desires. And if we don’t deal with those thoughts early, they grow roots. That’s why my constant prayer is, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” and “Search me, and see if there be any wicked way in me.”I’ll be sharing biblical examples—like Daniel, who was found innocent before God and rescued from the lions, and Abraham, who was told to “walk before Me and be blameless”—and look at the blessings that followed their obedience. The truth is, walking blameless before God is the key to real breakthrough. So many ministries are falling because they won't let God deal with the root of their sin. Sin is a heavy burden—it will wear you down if it's left unchecked. This episode is a call—a reminder—not to anchor your faith in others, but to relentlessly pursue a clean heart. It's not always easy, but it does get easier. God really can set you free from the weight of sin and give you a life of peace, power, and purpose.Join me as we dig into what it means to live uprightly and walk in the kind of freedom and breakthrough God always intended for us.

Some just give up. Bad move. JESUS LIVES and REIGNS! Some simply "go along to get along" to conform to culture and biological family. Really bad move, unless you are a lemming and don't care about the destiny someone else has chosen for you. But then JESUS, knowing this day would come, said, "By their fruit you shall know them" and "Wisdom is PROVED RIGHT by all her CHILDREN." Luke 7:35 Find some random offspring from whatever you wish you knew more about, look carefully at the second generation, and see if the gates of Hell are prevailing — as they would in a "mere words" and "mere ceremonies" attendance-based religious organization.
