Geoffrey Monts dives into Psalm 91 in today's episode, specifically focusing on verse 13. This powerful scripture promises us authority over our challenges, symbolized by the lion and the adder. As we explore this fourth note in our four-part harmony series, we reflect on our God-given power and authority. Positioning: Being in the right place for God to use you. Protection: God's promise of safety and security in His arms. Provision: God's assurance of taking care of His own. Power: The authority given to us to tread upon challenges and adversities. Authority in the Earth Realm: Drawing from Genesis, we have dominion and authority over the earth, symbolized by our ability to tread on the lion and the adder. Power of the Tongue: Proverbs 18:21 emphasizes the impact of our words. Speaking life and positivity aligns with God's word and manifests in our lives. Spiritual Warfare: Luke 10:19 and Psalm 91:13 remind us of our power over the enemy and our ability to overcome challenges through faith. Submitting to God: James 4:7 outlines the steps to exercise our authority by first submitting to God and then resisting the devil. Greater is He: 1 John 4:4 reinforces that the Holy Spirit within us is greater than any external force. Psalm 91:13: "Thou shalt tread upon the lion and the adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet." Proverbs 18:21: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." Luke 10:19: "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you." Isaiah 54:17: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn." James 4:7: "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." 1 John 4:4: "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world." Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." Romans 10:9: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." Our journey in Psalm 91 reveals the layers of God's promises—from positioning and protection to provision and power. As we walk in the authority given to us by God, let us submit to His will, speak life, and stand firm against the enemy, knowing that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. Let's Pray Together: Father, we honor you today. We magnify you for your protection, provision, and power. Help us to submit our lives to you and stand firm in your word, knowing that the enemy will flee from us. We ask for your grace to cover us and guide us in every aspect of our lives.
