But idolatry is worship of false gods or excessive devotion for some person or thing; anything that replaces God as your master passion. Modern idols include possessions, people (relationships, celebrity, prominence), hobbies, recreation, entertainment, career, etc. Idolatry is an attempt to satisfy your desire to “worship” without submitting to the true God. How can we turn from idols to God?
