Wow! That took a while. TRANSCRIPT · AUTO-GENERATED

Hey guys, additional episode today. This happened a few days ago where Audible finally updated their free audiobooks for October, coming towards the end of October, and they indeed are free to listen to, to the 31st of October, so unless they do something very tidy again in changing them over in November, then you've only got a few days, so sorry for not getting this out before, but I've been meaning to but just too busy, and they're actually a really good selection, so let's listen to what they are, and then let's listen to the beginning of one of them which is a particular favourite of mine, and let's say, what are your free audiobooks? This month you can choose from Frankenstein, Sense and Sensibility, Planet of the Apes and Pinocchio. These books are completely free to listen to until the 31st of October, no audible credits or payment needed.

Simply ask me to read the one you want. Read Planet of the Apes. Planet of the Apes, from Audible. To discover more titles, go to Audible.co.uk.

This is Audible. Planets of the Apes, written by Pierre Boulle, read by Greg Wise. Part 1. Chapter 1.

Gin and Phyllis were spending a wonderful holiday in space, as far away as possible from the inhabited stars. In those days, interplanetary voyages were not an everyday occurrence, and interstellar travel not uncommon. Rockets took tourists to the wondrous sites of Sirius, or financiers to the famous stock exchanges of Arcuris and Alabarran. But Gin and Phyllis, a wealthy-leasured couple, were distinguished in their cosmos for their originality and a few grains of poetry.

They wandered over the universe for their pleasure, by sale. Their ship was a sort of a sphere with an envelope, the sail, which was miraculously fine and light, and moved through space propelled by the pressure of light radiation. Such a machine left to its own devices in the vicinity of a star, though far enough a wave and field of gravity not to be too powerful, will always move in a straight line in the opposite direction of a latter. But since Gin and Phyllis' stellar system contained three suns which were relatively close to one another, their vessel received rays of light along three different axes.

Gin had therefore conceived an extremely ingenious method of searing. His sail was lined inside with a series of black blinds, which he could roll up or unroll at will. Plus changing the- Stop. Okay, there you go.

Maybe not your cup of tea, maybe right up your street. This is Robin signing off. Let's see how long those titles remain available. Speaking tomorrow.
