Adverse weather continues to impact north west farmers

The current inclement weather spell continues to seriously affect the livelihoods of farmers right across the north west. The IFA is asking the Government to provide a co-ordinated response to support farmers through prolonged weather difficulties. Donegal TD and Agriculture Minister Charlie McConalogue is due to convene a meeting of the National Fodder and Food Security Committee this week to address the issue. Leitrim IFA Chairperson Liam Gilligan says the situation has left farmers counting the cost.
