from Alien Nation: The Newcomers Podcast · host Geekyfanboy Productions
Show Notes Brothers Kenny and Michael Mittleider review and discuss a short lived but very socially aware TV series from the late 80's early 90's ALIEN NATION. Each podcast we will review a single episode in sequential order starting with the Pilot. Will give you our thoughts on the episode as well as some fun behind the scenes information. Today we cover Season 1, Episode 15 - Eyewitness News Directed by Lyndon Chubbuck Written by Charles S. Kaufman & Larry B. Williams Original air date February 5th 1990 Plot Summary: Exploitation is the name of the game as George Francisco becomes the focus of a local news station’s special report on the life of a Newcomer police officer, with the follow-up on his activities for an entire week. George becomes egocentric with all the attention, alienating his family and Sikes, while his work begins to suffer. Concurrently, Sikes and George are assigned the case of Newcomer Virginia Hamm, performer in a video phone-sex--line service, who has been violently assaulted. Sikes and Cathy discuss the sexuality of both humans and Tenctonese, each expressing curiosity about the other. While not taken any further in this episode, there is a sense that they are moving closer to having a serious relationship.
