Have you ever wanted something so badly, only to feel empty when you finally receive it? There is constant pressure to follow certain people, buy certain products, or do certain activities to guarantee success, happiness, and joy. These empty promises easily betray us because they cannot ultimately satisfy what only our Creator can. The act of vanity is the recognition of only one's achievements or appearance without the acknowledgment to God. The truth is when vanity rules us, God does not.
