Ambassador Academy, episode 5 - The Doctrine of Scripture: Clarity, Necessity, & Sufficiency
from The Blue Collar Scholar · host Will Reitz
In the previous episode we learned that the Bible has two attributes: Authority, and Inerrancy. In this episode we examine the other three attributes of Scripture: Clarity, Necessity, & Sufficiency. The clarity of Scripture means that, while not every single verse of the Bible is crystal clear, the Holy Bible is readily available to any reader or listener, and that the Word of God can be understood by literally anyone. To say that Scripture has necessity is to say that the Bible is necessary to know the Words of God, to know about Jesus, and salvation, and how to live a Godly life. The Sufficiency of Scripture means that the 66 books of Scripture are all that is absolutely necessary, and that all other resources are either supplemental (if they are positive resources) or they are to be avoided (for heretical resources).
