America Is Lost Episode Seven, Jamboree

from America Is Lost Part One: The Quest of Psychelapse

The original title of this segment is Jamboree. The 2020 edited version retitled this poem as "A Lamentation Song," but that title does not really fit the thematic idea of the material. Admittedly, the original poem sucked, so a lot of adjustments were made to this version of the text. There is nothing specific about this poem that might have indicated some prediction like the other parts; however, there is clearly a tone in this poem that smacks of some events relating to murders, suicides, environmental damages, and food shortages all over the world. It was not as bad in 1984 as it is today, so that is probably the prediction hidden in the original poem. It was very difficult to match a good beat to this one, and it took me 20 plus rehearsals to finally get the feel for it. I still think it could be a little better, but this one was a hard one.The work I did to produce this episode inspired me to create the documentary about the making of this series to demonstrate how complex it actually is to create a poetry reading to music. Thanks to the musical talents of the following: Go Baroque by Freedom Trail Studios, and Warzone by Anno Domini Beats.
