In a short government report issued during the Regan Administration, the Department of Education described the state of public education in America.It was not a pretty picture. The failures of the American educational system were easy to identify and so detrimental to the future of America that the report indicated … “If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war. As it stands we have allowed this to happen to ourselves.”A Nation at Risk, 1983It’s important to note that this report was issued 40 years ago.
