An Interview With Emmy O’Neill, Kidney Transplant Recipient and Australian Transplant Athlete

from Bread And Better Podcast

This week we welcome our first incredible guest, Emmy O’Neill, a photographer, kidney transplant recipient, Australian transplant athlete, organ donation advocate and inspirational speaker. Emmy has volunteered with Transplant Australia, worked with Donate Life during Donate Life Week’s #GreatRegistrationRace and was an ambassador for Kidney Health Australia during the Red Socks Appeal. Her essay ‘on dialysis’ was selected to be part of the e-book Stories from the Heart; Penning the Pandemic; a collection of essays about the pandemic and republished by InQueensland. She also shared her story on SheSaid, Courier Mail, ABC Breakfast + Afternoon Radio, numerous podcasts and was an International Women’s Day Panelist for Patient Voice Initiative. Emmy has been a guest and motivational speaker at schools, health conferences, advisory panel’s and hospital departments as a patient advocate representative. Bread and Better is hosted by Tegan Padget a qualified personal trainer, sports nutritionist, chef, and owner of the online lifestyle coaching business called Fitty Tegs, and Alex Whittington a freelance feature writer, producer, the owner of Hey Al! Productions, and a mum of three. We aim to not only discuss the issues that affect us as women - but also how the issues we deal with, and how we respond, can affect those we influence - our kids, our nephews and nieces, our siblings, our cousins, our godchildren, our best friend's kids. We are committed to opening a dialogue where we explore generational patterns in the health, movement and mindset space, and make real change.Follow us on Instagram @breadandbetterpodcastCredits: Hosts: Tegan Padget and Alex WhittingtonProducer: Alex WhittingtonOriginal Concept: Tegan PadgetAudio Production: Alex WhittingtonShow Notes: Anyone in Australia aged 16 and over can register on the Australian Organ Donor Register.
