Analog Ethics in our Digital World

from CompTIA EmTechCast · host CompTIA's EmTech Community

Analog Ethics in our Digital World Until we’re sure what our AR and VR future looks like, we have to plan for the unknown, and that includes the ethics of our digital inventions. That’s the seed of this conversation with by Jim Blasingame, author of “The 3rd Ingredient: The Journey of Analog Ethics into the World of Digital Fear and Greed.” In the second episode of The Em Cast, by the Emerging Technologies Community, Blasingame talks with CompTIA executive Jim Hamilton about the wild world of ethics related to emerging tech, and how some of the analog rules still apply. “We’re responsible for digital ethics ourselves,” said Blasingame. “We need to be part of the solution.” The Emerging Technology Community is one of 10 CompTIA Communities and works to encourage the adoption of new and emerging technology, as long as it improves business outcomes for members and their clients. While digital adoption overtakes analog processes, we’re still analog beings requiring analog ethics, Blasingame said. “And if you don’t put ethics into digital leverage you won’t get ethics out of it,” he said.
