Her research specialization is Buddhism in America, and she is the author of American Dharma: Buddhism Beyond Modernity (Yale University Press, 2019). She is currently working on a collaborative book project with Amy Langenberg on sexual abuse in American Buddhist communities, which is under advance contract with Yale University Press.
