Another Sh!tty Bookclub 📖: The One Giorgia Wanted to Throw at the Wall
from Sh!t They Don't Teach You at Law School · host Sarah-Elke Kraal
Welcome to the show that reveals everything you never knew you needed to know about being a lawyer! Hosted by Sarah-Elke Kraal (recovering lawyer and preeminent legal education disruptor) and friends 💖 You can connect with Sarah on LinkedIn and follow on Instagram @sarahelke. If you've got a legal workplace dilemma you'd like solved, join the mailing list at www.sarahelke.com—subscribers get an exclusive link to submit letters to the show! . . . Another Sh!tty Bookclub: 4,000 Weeks (Time Management For Mortals) by Oliver Burkeman It is a truth universally acknowledged that lawyers do NOT have time to read (at least not for funsies). So, every 6 weeks or so I get two of my (annoyingly) well-read, funny, gorgeous, and smart besties to read all the good books for us! Hooray! 🎉 Join: Giorgia Morini, Former Crown Prosecutor turned Culture Leader, Speaker, and Strategic Advisor; and Lauren Phelps, Former Law Firm Partner turned Wellbeing Advocate and Mediator— —for our journey through the first book Giorgia admits she ever wanted to throw at the wall*. It's an interesting one to say the least, and it will challenge every lawyer's perception of time; as well as productivity. Ultimately, it will leave you pondering: how INTENTIONAL are you with your time? what is a HEALTHIER approach to achieving a sense of productivity and tackling our endless to-do lists; and the discomfort of realising no one can actually CONTROL time (and accepting our limitations)... And in case you're wondering: the bru-ha-ha at the beginning of this episode is the aftermath of LP trying to lovingly pap me during my opening monologue which, as a person with a ferret in her brain, naturally derails my entire train of thought. Enjoy! 📖 *No books were harmed in the making of this podcast episode. . . . Did you like this episode? Let me know! Send me an email to [email protected].
