Apologetics and Evangelism: Buddhists and Muslims

from Reformed Thinking · host Edison Wu

Deep Dive into Apologetics and Evangelism by Dr. Michael Vlach & Prof. Jesse Johnson - Buddhists and MuslimsIn Buddhism, there are six realms of existence into which a being can be reborn as part of the continuous cycle of reincarnation that Buddhists aim to escape. These realms represent different states of being, determined by an individual's karma. The six realms are:The Land of the Heavens (Heavens inhabited by gods): Beings here experience lives of pleasure and happiness because of good deeds in previous lives. However, these heavens are not permanent; gods may eventually exhaust their good karma and fall into lower realms. Even dwelling in these pleasurable realms ultimately leads back into the cycle, as one must continue striving for Enlightenment. The Realm of the Titans: This realm is inhabited by powerful beings. The Animal Realm: This refers to rebirth as an animal. The Realm of the Hungry Ghost (Pras): In this realm, ghosts are often depicted with distended stomachs and insatiable thirst. They are so consumed by their hunger that they have no opportunity for spiritual concerns. The Hells: These are realms of intense suffering. The Human Realm: This realm holds unique significance because it is the only one from which Nirvana or Enlightenment can be reached. Regardless of how much pleasure a being experiences in the heavens, they must ultimately return to the system and work towards Enlightenment from the human condition. The existence within these realms is cyclical and impermanent, driven by cravings, desires, and lust, which are seen as the root of suffering. The ultimate goal is to eliminate these negative forces to achieve Nirvana and break free from this cycle of rebirths.Reformed Theologian GPT: https://chat.openai.com/g/g-XXwzX1gnv-reformed-theologianhttps://buymeacoffee.com/edi2730

I'm a teacher, author, nature lover and for ten years I owned a coffeehouse cafe where my faith in the goodness of humans was restored every day. This podcast highlights the awesomeness of humanity - er...outside the warmongers, globalists, tyrants and politicians in general. You know, the rest of us weird, quirky and sometimes hilarious humans. We'll talk woo, probe mysteries and leave you thinking about something more interesting or entertaining or uplifting than your grocery list, or boss or that oil change your car needs. I talk too much because I can't help my Gemini moon and Leo Rising nature. I do a podcast because it's cheaper, funnier and more productive than therapy.
