April 8, 2025 Daily Reading- Read the Bible in 1 Year

Today we will read 1 Kings 2: 3-16. We will read about the death of King David and the advice he gives to his son, Solomon, before this happens. We will have the joy of reading about God coming to Solomon in a dream, asking him what he wants God to give him. Solomon asks for wisdom, which we recently learned, starts with making God the most important one in our lives. God responds by telling Solomon that He is pleased with this request and that wisdom will indeed be given to Solomon, as well as other things that he did NOT ask for! We will discuss that Jesus taught us to first seek God's kingdom and the rest of what we need will be given to us, the same way this happened for Solomon.
