Architecture Students Design Ceremonial Grounds

from University Communication & Marketing

Landscape Architecture students take a site survey in the woods just north of Lincoln, Nebraska, in preparation for the creation of a new ceremonial grounds for the Otoe Missouri tribe. VISUAL DESCRIPTION About a dozen college students walk through a wooded area. It's fall and there are no leaves on the trees. They take photos and pick up deer antlers. A male student struggles to climb up the side of a ravine. In downtown Lincoln, a woman walks into an art museum. She goes upstairs to the museum's library. Back near the woods, a tribal woman hikes across an open field. She looks around at the bare trees. Students explore a creek that runs through the woods. They take more photos. The professor points to places on a map of the woods. The final shot from above the area shows the meandering path of the creek through the trees.
