Are we past peak Omicron pessimism?

It was a nasty open, with Omicron nerves thumping stocks across the board. Then the markets digested early analysis that the virus may be highly transmissible but not necessarily deadly. Peak pessimism was 30 minutes into the session. Travel stocks initially bore the brunt, Qantas was down another 6.2% at the worst. Markets shrugged off GDP inputs; more are released tomorrow.
