People living in a homeless encampment in the city of Lancaster are expected to be moved from their current encampment on Friday. This notice is an extension from an original deadline originally set for a week earlier.Currently, those living in the encampment can be seen under the bridge along the Catawba River heading into the city.County officials say there is a warming center that’s been open since the beginning of December available for those in need. The center provides a bed, meals, and a shower for unhoused neighbors located 12 minutes from the encampment.They also say it’s “hit or miss” that the resources at the center are used.WCNC Charlotte spoke with people living in the encampment on Thursday.
