ATU are set to be awarded €6.2m in funding towards research and infrastructure upgrades.It's part of an €80m windfall for higher education institutions, with the announcement made by the Department of Further and Higher Education today.The funding announced today is set to be shared between ATU Campuses in Sligo, Donegal and Galway.Following news this week that the sale of land to ATU Sligo from Sligo County Council for purpose built student accomodation has been approved, Fianna Fail councillor, Edel McSharry, says its a positive time for education in the region.
