Today we read about God calling John the Baptist to fulfill His prophecy of being a voice calling in the desert, making the way for the coming of the Lord. John taught confession and repentance of sins and bearing fruit worthy of that repentance after baptizing. We also read about Jesus coming to be baptized, telling John that it was good for them to do everything that was right. In our discussion for daily application today we will talk about the fact that Jesus is not above the law. He always does what is right, like our Heavenly Father, and we, too, should strive to do all that is right and bear fruit worthy of our repentance. Everyone is known by the fruit they produce.
