In today's reading we will see Nehemiah living the example of how to be a servant leader. Nehemiah looked out for the people, whether it was to pray for them, offer them encouragement, stand up for them when they were being treated poorly by the leaders, or showing how lead mercifully and caringly by not taxing the people but instead, feeding them. In our discussion for daily application we will talk about being a servant leader whenever WE are placed in a position of leadership and taking care to treat our brothers and sisters with service, rather than lording authority over them. Jesus modeled this behavior as well, and taught us about it in Matthew 20:25-28, when He told the disciples that he, himself, came to serve, not be served, and so we, too, are to serve one another. We will discuss 2 Timothy 3:16-17 which tells us that all scripture is God breathed (spoken by God) and useful for teaching, correction, restoration, and training in righteousness so that we may be made capable and fully equipped for every good work that God has prepared for us to do. Thank you, God for providing us with your loving and powerful teaching so that we may be encouraged, capable,  fully equipped, and READY TO SERVE YOU in every good work you give us to do.
