Ola pessoal! For this latest episode I spoke with Bobby Ong, who is the COO and co-founder of CoinGecko. Based out of Malaysia, CoinGecko rivals CoinMarketCap for supremacy atop the world of crypto price and data platforms. CoinGecko’s position in the market gives Bobby an incredible bird’s eye view of emerging trends across the industry, and he lends us some of that expertise and insight during this interview. In this episode we talk about how CoinGecko grew from a side hustle project run out of a bedroom into one of the most popular coin and exchange data websites in the world. We then dive into how meme coins and play-to-earn gaming tokens are becoming massive adoption onramps for emerging market economies like Brazil and Malaysia, and will continue to be as these products mature. We also talk about CoinGecko’s (relatively) new product that highlights trending cryptocurrencies by country.
