In this episode, I interview Zaheera Soomar. Zaheera is an academic scholar, the Global Head of Education & Skills, the founder of Bizzscholar and Zaheera Soomar Advisor. She has more than 17 years of experience leading on business strategy, organizational change, responsible business practice and innovation and large-scale transformation across multiple industries. From partnering with start-up/early-stage firms to working with companies like Bain and Company, she has experience working in over 20 countries while providing guidance to various C-Suite and Government Leaders across multiple regions and sectors. Zaheera was awarded a Mandela Washington fellowship in 2015, and has published a number of peer-reviewed articles, op-ed pieces, white papers articles, and blogs. Zaheera is currently pursuing her Doctorate through Haskayne Business School focused on Responsible Business Practice and the Future of Work. She is a wife and mother of 3 children and is passionate about promoting diversity and inclusion and tackling poverty and inequality. She is an advocate for positive change in these areas and sits on a selection of boards and advisory committees focused on women’s empowerment, homelessness, disaster management, and education.
