Beans on Toast!

from Albion Tonight · host Brooke

Oh, Beans on Toast. It is a multifaceted dish, which has developed many identities over time from that of the economical wonder meal to a quick breakfast and even that of a quintessential element of British identity (and of a full English breakfast). Both beloved by many and despised by many, there is no way to deny its importance to British history, culture, and identity. In this episode, I seek to take you on a wild roller coaster ride into the history of this dish AND, most importantly, how it relates to women. Believe me, it certainly does. If you want to find out more, pull up a chair, toast your bread, bake your pre-baked beans, and listen to this fantabulous episode. Notes: I mispronounced Ken Albala’s name quite a bit in this episode and sincerely apologize. I accidentally pronounced it with two B’s and I want to own up to my mistake.

It started as an internship project that grew into a passion to bring out the fun side of celebrities and other personalities. Back in 2015, a 24-year-old Newfoundlander by the name of Bryan Tobin had already had short stops in the media industry. Tobin had done internships at CBC Newfoundland, Ottawa Sun, and Global Toronto, however, he could never seem to break out into doing interviews that showed his personality and getting the guests to break up their shells. The idea was born, Tobin Tonight, a talk show inspired by Tobin's favorite late-night hosts, Conan O'Brien and Craig Ferguson. The conversational podcast seeks to have a simple fun-based interaction with celebrity guests about their careers and other questions Tobin finds in Geeks, Geezers, and Googlization Show Ira S Wolfe If you think this is just another podcast, think again.
