Becoming Who GOD Wants YOU To Be

To become who God wants you to be you must make a DELIBERATE DECISION to become His DISCIPLE. Matthew 16:24 (ESV) – Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 (NLT2) – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. IF – ANYONE – WOULD COME/WANTS – AFTER ME/BE MY FOLLOWER – 2. To become who God wants you to be you must practice SELFDISCIPLINE and DENY yourself. Matthew 16:24 (ESV) – Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. Matthew 16:24 (NLT2) – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. DENY – 3. To become who God wants you to be you must PRACTICE DEDICATION and DEVOTION and say YES to living God’s way. Matthew 16:24-25 (ESV) – Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. 25 For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. Matthew 16:24-25 (NLT2) – Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must turn from your selfish ways, take up your cross, and follow me. 25 If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it. TAKE UP – FOLLOW – 4. To become who God wants you to be you must LIVE to benefit your SOUL, not to acquire or accumulate STUFF. Matthew 16:26-27 (ESV) – For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay each person according to what he has done. Matthew 16:26-27 (NLT2) – And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul? 27 For the Son of Man will come with his angels in the glory of his Father and will judge all people according to their deeds. SOUL – There are FOUR primary reasons why the soul is far superior to the things of this earth. 1. EVERYTHING FADES AND PASSES AWAY. 2. EVERYTHING CANNOT BE USED ALL AT ONCE. 3. YOU ARE ONLY ON EARTH FOR A SHORT TIME. 4. YOUR SOUL IS ETERNAL.
