The teachings I heard there and at home laid the foundations for my self confidence and my self esteem. Too many others experienced guilt, and shame, and rejection. Too many others lived in fear of a perpetually angry God. If this was your experience, and you’re still reading or listening to this, let me begin to recast some of what you heard. In baseball a sacrifice is to give up something of value for something of even greater value. Jesus didn’t give up his life for us because he thought we were worthless.
