In our third episode of this series, host Emma Aviet talks to Youngmi Kim, Senior Lecturer in Korean Studies at the University of Edinburgh.Together they discuss Youngmi's personal journey to becoming an academic as well as her work with students in the recently-established Centre for Korean Studies. The two also speak about Youngmi's research on the rise of polarization, inequality and political contention in South Korea, specifically as it relates to online discussions around feminism and the vanishing middle class, as well as her work in Myanmar and the role of education in establishing democracy.
