In our fifth episode of this series, host Emma Aviet talks to Bahar Fayeghi, a second-year PhD student in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies at the University of Edinburgh.Together they discuss the amazing work Bahar has done as an intern with the United Nations, acting as both a Humanitarian Affairs Intern with the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and a Protection Intern with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. They also discuss Bahar's current research on Afghan women refugees in Iran and how they help their families survive and thrive, despite enormous difficulties. Every day these women find ways to resist the complex power systems working against them and improve their economic situation and mental state.
