from The Bald Faced Truth With John Canzano

John Canzano is in talking about the death of former Cubs great Ryne Sandberg. Canzano questions why we don't show love to people while they are alive instead of doing it only when they pass away. Canzano also talks about the Oregon football team and what some of the biggest questions are this season. Tyson Alger of the I5 Corridor joins the program to discuss the Oregon Ducks and Oregon State Beavers football teams. Alger is very high on the Ducks, but he thinks with so much turnover that the floor is lower than it has been in the past. Alger talks about the Beavers and says that new quarterback Maalik Murphy is going to play a huge role early in the season against the toughest part of the Beavers schedule. Former Major League Baseball umpire Dale Scott joins the program to discuss umpiring in MLB. Scott talks about how they were evaluated back when he was an umpire, and how he was taught to call balls and strikes. Scott talks about how the strike zones on tv vary from team to team. Scott talks about how the league has changed. It used to be that all players and fans wanted was consistency, but nowadays, the fans and players expect umpires to be 100% accurate. Scott thinks that umpires are tired of hearing how bad they are and are ready to just give in to the automatic ball system. Head coach of Murrayhill Little League, Ryan Menten, joins the program to talk about his little team, which just won state and is heading to San Bernardino. Menten talks about his team and how hard they play and what they are doing to be successful in the state and regional tournaments. Menten talks about the umpires and if the videos you see on social media with fans and umpires fighting are real. Punch it audio, the 5 at 5, and much more!
