This week our theme was breaking preconceived notions of what someone can or cannot do based upon race or gender. Aldo NICE, Rog Smuve, and C.A.P. jumped the podcast off by discussing our favorite Italian-African-American Kobe Bryant, his Academy Award, and backlash from the #MeToo crowd (02:00) before answering lingering questions from our last podcast about guns in schools, a police officer’s responsibility during mass shootings, and another school shooter that you may not have heard about (10:00). Switching focus back to the Oscars, we dissected Emma Stone’s failed attempt to go hard for the #TimesUp community at the expense of minorities (24:00). Why do we always have to equate struggles of the LGBT community and women with minorities (31:00)? After briefly shooting on the Black movie, actor, actress, and director of the year (36:00), we again changed directions and discussed the NFL combine (41:00). In this segment, we picked our 5 favorite stories from the combine and looked at the bigger stories behind Lamar Jackson being a black quarterback (42:00), Troy Apke being a white speedster (44:00), Shaquem Griffin being the sentimental favorite (48:00), Derrius Guice having his sexuality questioned (54:00), and Saquon Barkley being typical (56:00). We decided to wrap the podcast with a discussion of when it is okay to talk about anxiety (1:00:00) and Aldo having Nothin’ NICE to Say about how Trump gets away with everything (1:05:00).
