THE CHAIR (S1/Ep21) — Black People in MotionHello Beautiful People, I’m Your Host Dreme. I’m a Black woman, an educator turned tech entrepreneur but still an educator. Building a platform called THE CHAIR is a Black and Brown centered tech platform dedicated to supporting people on their hair journey. You can design hairboards, connect to hair stylists, and share hair care tips all in one space for a more joyous and streamlined experience. I built THE CHAIR Podcast to highlight hair journeys. A reminder to keep creating magic. As people sit in THE CHAIR you will get more than just hair stories. You will be immersed into experiences surrounding education, entrepreneurship, and identity. I hope you enjoy listening to my stories and the stories of my guests as we sit in THE CHAIR. THE CHAIR (S1/Ep21) — Black People in MotionWe met in Johannesburg, South Africa. He is a Fulbright Research recipient and I a Fulbright Teaching Assistantship recipient. We began to form a friendship over good food, conversation, and art. Dr. Korey and I talk about what it means to navigate the various spaces we've encountered as Black people. Enjoy! His Bio: A native of Schenectady, NY, I found myself as a computer scientist working for corporate America and stationed in Johannesburg, South Africa.  My travels through Bantuland brought me to Robben Island, where I learned of South Africa’s first political prisoner during Apartheid, Robert Sobukwe. This unsung hero was imprisoned for his ability to craft messages of upheavel and liberation.
