    Introducing the Audio Edition

    Release Date: 08/11/2022

Description: Welcome to the audio edition of Number One with a Bullard. I started the newsletter as a way of clearing my head and testing out ideas. I took a break earlier this year to work on some new ideas. You’ll get those in your email and podcast app (assuming you subscribe) soon. Here’s the link to subscribe—and here it is on Apple Podcasts. Like I wrote a few weeks ago, I’ve been missing the feeling of being on microphone. When I sat down to record, I realized I missed a lot more. It’s not just the creative outlet of writing and recording, but the opportunity to build a little soundscape around an idea. So what began as a plan to record some short essays turned into a larger project of production and composition. As with the newsletter, this audio edition is an experiment. I wonder if this format—narration with occasional outside sound and quotes, mixed with ambient(ish) music—will work. Let me know. Stay tuned. Also…not every episode will start like this one does. I was listening to Axis: Bold as Love a lot while I was planning the project. This is a public episode.
