BLM Founder Alicia Garza Starts Black Futures Lab

Five years ago, Alicia Garza helped create Black Lives Matter. Now, her focus is the Black Futures Lab, taking the pulse of African American communities, building political power for people of color and challenging policymakers.One of the group’s initiatives is the Black Census -- which aims to provide a better understanding of the diversity of opinion in the Black community, and to use that information to help improve the ways in which those communities are served.
