Bonus Episode - A preview of my novel

Bonus Episode! Yet listeners know that for the past ~5 months, I've been working on my first novel. Many of you have asked on social media and elsewhere for an update and a preview of the book. I have completed the first draft, and am entering into the self-editing process. This is all brand new for me, but I'm having a lot of fun and learning a ton as I go. On this bonus episode, listen as I read an excerpt of my manuscript - words that just might end up being the introduction to the book. This is a story about friendship, and about growing up. It' s a work of fiction, but it's loosely based on my experience as a young man, under the warm Virginia sun, catching smallmouth bass with my best friends on a stretch of the James River at the intersection and in the shadow of towering mountain peaks.
