Laureate na nÓg Patricia Forde and a bus full of Irish children’s authors and illustrators have started a 1,400km journey down the Wild Atlantic Way, from Donegal to Cork. The Whole Wild World Bus Tour will be stopping at schools and libraries in Donegal, Leitrim, and Sligo, gifting a book for every kilometre to children at events on the way. The aim is to bring books and their creators to an audience that doesn’t often get a chance to meet them. The bus will stop in areas including Glenties, Killybegs and Manorhamilton today Tuesday April 16th, and Sligo Town and Easky on Wednesday April 17th. Patricia Forde spoke about the endeavour and her own journey in an extended interview below:
