Boost for Sligo businesses expected as Christmas shopping trends change

The CEO of Sligo Chamber of commerce says the greater availability of goods will provide a boost for Sligo based business in the lead up to Christmas. It seems more people are travelling south of the border for their Christmas shopping this year. Traditionally, people from the Republic have travelled north to get cheaper groceries, alcohol, and presents. In the past December 8th was the day when many people from the County travelled from areas like the North West to Dublin for Christmas shopping. Aidan Doyle says since Brexit however many local shop owners say these trend has changed:
